Hauclir was thrown on the ground like a rag doll, hands bound behind him tightly, armoured but helmetless, his long blonde hair caked with blood and grime partially covering his one eye. His left and right side was covered by two Eldar warriors, clad in decorative armour filled with etchings and ornements, their helmets tall and proud with long plumes of white feather on top. They were holding Hauclir with one hand, and a long power-glaive of ancient origin, even by Eldar standards, on the other. Kikkiya was nowhere to be seen.
''So..'' A voice called from a distance, echoing through the whole chamber. ''It's been too long, son''
Hauclir looked up, his eye filled with hatred and a bitter amusement.
''Father?, of all the places in the 'verse, I thought your throne room would be the final place I'd be now'' he said.
''IMPUDENT WHELP!'' Neliel smashed his hand on the throne's armrest. His voice rarely went up, and everyone in the room shuddered in fear. Even the guards holding Hauclir gripped their glaives thighter, and his shoulders as well. It hurt.
''You have caused this clan great problems you fool! Because of you I had to make new arrangements with the others, make new pacts which put us in difficult positions! Not to mention the vehicles and the manpower that followed you, and didn't come back! How do you answer yourself!''
''It would take days to answer with my story, and a great deal of your finest wine to make you believe me father'' Hauclir replied.
''You start speaking now or I will tie your body to a jetbike and send it to the nearest star!'' Neliel shouted. ''I want to know everything that has brought you on your knees, in front of me.''
''Very well father...It all started when I was forcefully hired by the harlequins to retrieve the Atlas Shrugged, a stolen book from their infamous black library...''

Hauclir couldn't believe his eyes. In the mist of his ship, there was a cult. A slaneeshi one that. How could these people so stupid, even for their dark kin! As he and Kikkiya walked further into the cultists own shantytown, disguised in ragged purple robes, he took it all in, was not amused at all. They called it "the Carnival of Miscreation", and a carnival it was. There were weird creatures collected all across the galaxy, mutants, aliens and even things that Hauclir had last seen in his voyages within the Eye. They were used as pets, sold, bought, bartered with and used for pleasure. Here and there he could see small tents, and within came screams and moans. There was music, but it hurt his sensitive ears. He could see a small band of musicians playing with instruments that looked like body parts, mostly humanoid, still glossy with blood. All across the carnival eldar were dancing, screaming the forbidden gods name in ecstacy. They also yelled one name amongst all others. ''Gargolmar!''
''When Black Library hears about this there will be hell to pay'' Kikkiya murmured.
''There won't be a need for Black Library, I promise you that.''
They walked further in. It was hard to navigate through the crowds, bodies pressing over them, threatening to split them up but Kikkiya wanted to find the leader of this rag-tag carnival and kill him there and then, and Hauclir just wanted this nightmare to be over. He was given this ship by that untrustworthy Gargolmar, and it appeared that he gave him a special breed of crew to go with.
They deserved only death.
Hauclir saw a specific tent amongst the other ones, one that was coloured even brighter than the others, hurting his eye. Its colour was.....well he had no idea. It was the colour of his dreams, it smelled like love, it felt like purple. It just shouldn't have existed. He poked Kikkiya in the ribs and smiled when she jumped awkwardly, she was ticklish, amusing.
''There'' he gestured. Kikkiya nodded.
They split the crowd and reached the tent. Kikkiya drew a tiny dagger from a hidden part of her bodyglove and cut a small opening. Hauclir pushed her aside and made his way in. When he looked insi......

''Spare me the details pup! I know the fact that you sent that ship in the nearest black hole with all hands on deck. Speed up and don't waste my time, or time will waste you.'' Neliel interrupted.
''Whoa that was deep'' an Eldar murmured behind Hauclir.
''I think it's from a song'' another commented.
Neliel threw them a look that would make the Avatar of War think twice before talking again. They looked for a small spot on the ground.
''Well you wanted me to tell the story. Anyways, after we dealt with that cult and the ship, Kikkiya and I went after our last remaining clue for the Atlas. I will spare you the details, but it appeared that the Atlas was stolen by some very talented dark kin, and through my previous ship it was smuggled into Cammoragh.''
''You keep talking about this...book that the Harlequins are looking for. Why is it so important?'' Neliel asked.
''Well, I don't honestly know the full details, but as far as I know, it is the last and only copy of the Atlas Infernal, which was stolen by an Imperial Inquisitor from the Black Library. It is called Shrugged because it was incomplete in places, and was usually ignored. But like the complete Atlas, it has almost the full map of the webway. You can imagine how important such a book may be, and why the Harlequins want it back in their library'' Hauclir replied.
Neliel took it all in with a thoughtful expression. His father was a smart man, and understood the importance of such an item. He also started imagining things he could accomplish with it in his grasp. Hauclir knew all this, and knew he had limited time. As an outcast, even as a prince, his life had no value, and he could imagine that within the shadows of the room, his brothers and sisters were all watching his struggle and planning their next moves. Chieftains and their children always fought within the clans of Saim-Hann, some fights with swords and spears, others with political means, for further leverage and position. Hauclir's death would benefit a lot of people. Dammit! Where the hell is Kikkiya?
''Continue...'' Neliel bade.
